What you’ll do as an Account Executive

Account Executives play a key role in Gartner’s sustained growth and have access to C-Level Executives across the world. Our Account Executives have a hybrid role, focused on the renewal and retention of clients as well as generating new revenue. You’ll partner with existing Gartner clients, leveraging internal subject matter experts, to address their critical priorities. By becoming a true partner to your clients, you’ll identify opportunities for account retention and growth through contract expansion and introducing new services and products. Clients of the large enterprise sales team have $1B+ in annual revenue and include 77% of the Global 500.

  • Quota of circa $1.2m USD in contract value across 10–20 large enterprise accounts.
  • Retaining and growing existing clients.
  • Partner closely with Customer Success to drive high-value engagement with seat-holders.
  • Execute a series of client meetings to review ROI and align with priorities for timely renewal of services.
  • Drive high-quality outbound activity to generate a consistent volume of new opportunities.
  • Partner with C-Level executives to develop and implement enterprise-wide strategies.
  • Guide customer satisfaction, account retention and growth by collaborating with clients and Gartner teams.
  • Own forecasting and account planning on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
  • Contribute best practices and positive collaboration within the team.

What you’ll need

  • 5+ years’ B2B sales experience, preferably in complex, intangible sales environments.
  • Proven track record meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience selling to and/or influencing C-level executives.
  • Proven ability to precisely manage and forecast a complex sales process.
  • Willingness to conduct EMEA-wide travel.

Progression within Account Executive Roles

  • All individual contributors have monthly review and plan sessions with their manager to discuss progression goals and set benchmarks.
  • Typical internal promotions include: Senior Account Executive, Team Lead, Sales Manager.
  • All Sales Managers and Team Leads are hired internally as part of the progression path.
