Job Summary: We are recruiting for the exciting role of ‘Graphic Designer’ who will be an integral member of Garsons busy in-house marketing team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will support the delivery of the company’s overall marketing signage, assets and branding, ensuring all creative output is consistently on-brand, visually engaging and delivered to a high standard. The right person for this role will have advanced knowledge of design software, a creative flair and a passion for design. (These skills will be demonstrated/showcased in a personal portfolio).
Who are Garsons? Founded in 1871, today Garsons is an award-winning destination Garden Centre, Farm Shop and Restaurant with locations in Esher, Surrey and Titchfield, Hampshire. Garsons Esher is also home to one of the UK's largest pick-your-own farms.
What does the role involve? As a Graphic Designer, you will have excellent, proven design skills and a keen eye for detail and modern design, consistently delivering high-quality, on-brand artwork that upholds and advances the Garsons brand and marketing production. You will maintain a proactive, positive attitude when implementing our marketing strategy and occasionally support additional marketing responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality print and digital design assets, delivering signage, POS, posters, event materials, seasonal campaigns and projects from concept to launch.
- Maintain and enforce brand guidelines, acting as brand ambassador to ensure consistent, on-brand communication across all touchpoints.
- Support marketing activity through content creation and seasonal campaigns.
- Effectively handle multiple projects and day-to-day tasks, manage print production, equipment and suppliers.
What skills and experience do you need?
- Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) are essential.
- Knowledge of other creative software applications, CMS, and email campaign software is beneficial.
- Have a strong understanding of graphic design principles, print production, typography, and brand consistency.
- Proven experience as a Graphic Designer or in a similar creative role.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Adaptable, able to multitask, prioritise and work to tight deadlines across day-to-day tasks, campaigns and larger projects.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively and proactively in a small team environment.
- Hold a portfolio showcasing design experience, layout skills, technical expertise, and creative thinking.
- Previous experience in a B2C company, retailer, or design agency is advantageous.
- A degree or diploma in a design-related field is desirable.
Contract: This is a permanent, full-time, office-based role (42.5 hours per week). Part-time hours may be considered, with a minimum requirement of 25.5 hours. Office Hours: 08:00 – 17:00. You may occasionally be required to work outside these hours to meet deadlines, attend events.
