We are currently looking to appoint one or two Caretakers to help ensure our school site is safe, well maintained, and ready to support learning every day.

Key Responsibilities:- Safeguard the security and integrity of the school premises by carrying out keyholder responsibilities; ensuring that access routes remain safe and unobstructed; and promptly reporting any actual or potential security concerns.
- Undertake routine and reactive maintenance across the school site, and assist with the identification, engagement and supervision of external contractors when specialist skills are required.
- Plan, coordinate and maintain accurate records of scheduled preventative maintenance and statutory health and safety checks in accordance with the school’s risk assessments and regulatory obligations.
- Perform housekeeping and grounds maintenance duties to ensure the school environment is clean, safe and consistently maintained to a high standard.
- Support the school’s environmental and sustainability goals by managing utilities and responsibly operating the heating, lighting and other building systems.
- Provide porterage support, including moving and assembling equipment and assisting with the setup of classrooms and school resources as required.
- Be aware of, and comply with, policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (2025), the school will also carry out an online search as part of its due diligence process for all shortlisted candidates. Interviews will include a short practical activity to assess capability, followed by a formal question and answer session.
