This position would suit someone interested in a clerical or administrative role, who would like to contribute to the smooth and efficient running of our school and deliver excellent administrative support to the office team.
The position is term‑time only, with an additional five days worked across the school holidays throughout the year. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with a one‑hour unpaid lunch break.
Whilst experience of using a payment system or customer relationship management system would be advantageous, no formal qualifications are required, as full training will be provided. What is essential is that the successful applicant will be required to use a range of ICT software and applications. Relevant experience and transferable skills in managing data and records, together with an understanding of accurate and confidential record‑keeping, are therefore important.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide day‑to‑day administrative support within the school office, helping with a range of routine tasks including basic finance work and general clerical duties.
- Be a friendly and professional first point of contact for the school, welcoming visitors, answering telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries, and ensuring everyone is signed in safely in line with school procedures.
- Handle the school’s post each day, including opening and distributing incoming mail and preparing outgoing items.
- Support the attendance and catering processes by collecting registers and completing required returns accurately and on time.
- Keep records up to date using both paper‑based and computer systems, ensuring information is accurate, well organised and treated confidentially.
- Where needed, provide basic first aid support to pupils and communicate appropriately with parents/carers and staff.
Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (2025), the school will also carry out an online search as part of its due diligence process for all shortlisted candidates. Interviews will include a short practical activity to assess capability, followed by a formal question‑and‑answer session.
