We are a well-established, family-run damp, timber, and structural waterproofing company. At our core, we are building more than just a business; we are building a team and culture that sets a new standard within the construction industry.
Our vision is simple: to change the perception of the building trade by delivering exceptional workmanship and outstanding customer experience. We work across both residential homes and commercial projects, delivering high-quality damp-proofing and waterproofing solutions in a variety of environments. We pride ourselves on professionalism, technical excellence, and creating a working environment where people can grow, take ownership, and be proud of what they deliver.
This is a senior, hands-on position for an experienced individual who understands the damp and waterproofing industry in depth and is ready to take ownership on site. You will represent the business professionally across both residential and commercial settings. This role requires someone who understands waterproofing systems, not just general plastering. We recognise that damp-proofing and structural waterproofing are specialist disciplines. Candidates are not expected to be experts in both areas. We are open to applicants who specialise in either:
- Damp-proofing and plastering systems
- Structural waterproofing systems (Type A or Type C, including cavity drain membranes)
If your experience is focused in one area, we still encourage you to apply. We are looking for strong specialists who can take ownership within their field, rather than generalists covering everything.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage teams of 2–3 technicians on site.
- Deliver damp-proofing, waterproofing, and specialist plastering works across residential and commercial projects.
- Install and understand Cementitious (Type A) waterproofing systems, Cavity drain membrane (Type C) systems including drainage and sump setups.
- Carry out high-quality rendering and skim finishes where required.
- Plan and organise daily workloads to meet deadlines.
- Ensure an excellent end-to-end customer experience.
- Communicate clearly with clients, explaining works and processes.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, cleanliness, and professionalism.
- Work closely with the Works Manager and wider team.
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a minimum of 5 years' experience within damp-proofing / waterproofing.
- Has a strong understanding of damp diagnosis and waterproofing principles.
- Can lead a team and take responsibility for site delivery.
- Takes pride not just in results, but in how the work is delivered.
- Is organised, proactive, and able to plan ahead.
- Wants to grow with the business and contribute to its long-term success.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are open to two types of individuals within this role:
- Full-Time Employees: We are looking for individuals who want to build a long-term career with us, grow within the business, and take ownership of their role. This is ideal for someone who wants progression, structured support, and to be part of a strong, values-driven team.
- Subcontractors: We are also looking to expand our trusted subcontractor network. This would suit experienced individuals who:
- Have their own van and tools.
- Can work to a high standard in line with our systems.
- Are reliable, professional, and client-facing.
- Have strong experience in damp-proofing and waterproofing systems.
Subcontractors will be expected to represent the company to the same standard as our employed team, delivering consistent quality and professionalism across all projects.
Location & Travel Expectations:
Full-time employees will be required to attend our yard in Watford at the start of the working day, where teams are organised and deployed to site. For this reason, applicants should be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Watford. This role is not suited to individuals travelling long distances daily, as consistency, punctuality, and team coordination are essential to how we operate.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in damp-proofing / waterproofing.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable (Not Essential):
- CSCS card.
- PCA / Newton / Delta training or qualifications.
- Experience with cavity drainage membrane systems.
- Wider knowledge of construction trades.
Our Core Values (Non-Negotiable):
The right candidate will naturally demonstrate:
- Growth mindset.
- Positive attitude.
- Ownership and accountability.
- Teamwork.
- Passion and determination.
- Honesty and integrity.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary (£42,500 – £47,000 depending on experience).
- Company vehicle.
- Company pension.
- Performance-based bonuses and incentives.
- Ongoing training and development (internal & external).
- Clear progression opportunities within a growing business.
- 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) + birthday leave.
- Company events and team activities.
- Supportive, team-driven working environment.
Why Join Us:
This is an opportunity to step into a key role within a growing company where your input genuinely matters. We are looking for someone who wants more than just a job — someone who wants to help shape the future of the business, raise standards in the industry, and be part of a strong, values-driven team.
