Garforth Academy is seeking a Head of Learning and Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our academy in September 2026 on a permanent, part‑time basis.
Responsibilities:
- Complement teachers’ delivery of the curriculum and support the development of other staff, pupils and academy policies and strategies.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist them throughout the planning cycle and in the management/preparation of resources.
- Supervise whole classes during short‑term absences of teachers.
- Provide support to pupils, teachers and the academy in order to raise standards of achievement for all, utilising advanced knowledge and skills in planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes and encouraging pupils to become independent learners.
- Support pupil welfare and inclusion of pupils in all aspects of academy life.
Salary and Hours:
- Salary: Grade F Points 14–19 (£29,540–£32,061 Full Time Equivalent), subject to pro‑rata. The minimum pro‑rata salary per annum is £22,416.63.
- Hours: 32.5 hours per week during term time, plus five days per term (39 weeks) or all year round.
