Garfield Primary School is looking for a full-time Level 3 Teaching Assistant and Play Leader starting 2 September 2026. Graduates interested in a career in teaching or a related profession may wish to apply.

Actual salary £29,436-30,288 p.a. (+ pay award pending). FTE salary: £25,599-26,340. The role will initially be a 1-Year fixed term contract with the possibility to become permanent.

We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Teaching Assistant who wants the very best for the children under their care. The successful candidate will work term time only including INSET days (39 weeks) for 35 hours a week (8.30am to 4.00pm). The role will be largely class based, working with individuals or small groups of children across their phase. You will also be required to supervise the lunchtime provision.

You should be creative and caring with a commitment to quality educational provision and the ability to work in partnership with the class teachers. A good standard of maths and written and spoken English is essential, along with enthusiasm and excellent communication skills.

There will be opportunities for professional development and the chance to build a wide range of skills around support for children's learning and their all-round development. The successful candidates must have a passion for learning, have high expectations for all children, motivating and engaging them in the learning process, be prepared to make a valuable contribution to our school with a desire to be involved in all aspects of school life and share our vision and be committed to the welfare and safeguarding of children.
