About the Role

GardX is on an exciting growth journey and we are looking for a Director of Technology to lead and evolve our technology landscape across the Group.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering GardX\’s technology and IT strategy, ensuring our platforms, systems, and architecture enable business growth, operational efficiency, and innovation. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to deliver scalable, secure, and future-ready technology solutions.

What You\’ll Be Doing

Technology Strategy & Transformation

• Define and lead the Group technology and IT strategy aligned to business goals.
• Own the technology platform roadmap, including consolidation and modernisation initiatives.
• Lead technology partner relationships and supplier strategy.
• Represent technology at leadership level, contributing to strategic discussions and hiring decisions.
• Identify, assess, and implement technology solutions to meet current and future business needs.
• Develop and manage technology operating and capital budgets.
• Establish technology standards, governance, and best practices across the Group.
• Track, analyse, and report on technology performance and value.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends and drive innovation across the organisation.

Software Architecture & Engineering

• Drive continuous improvement of software architecture and engineering practices.
• Oversee system design, architecture changes, and cross-platform integrations.
• Ensure systems are modern, scalable, secure, and fit for purpose.
• Support full lifecycle software development, from design through delivery.
• Enable best-in-class technical solutions that support multiple brands and platforms.

People, Delivery & Operations

• Design and develop a scalable technology organisation with clear ownership and succession planning.
• Manage internal teams, outsourced resources, and delivery partners.
• Oversee technology operations including infrastructure, networks, capacity planning, and support.
• Prioritise and manage key initiatives to deliver maximum business value.

Technology Enablement

• Build a strong technology partner ecosystem focused on standardisation and efficiency.
• Develop a Centre of Excellence for Technology and IT across the Group.
• Define and maintain a best-of-breed technology stack.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Business Development, Operations, and Brand teams to enhance the customer journey and product integration.

What We\’re Looking For

Experience & Knowledge

• Minimum 10 years\’ experience in a senior technology or IT leadership role.
• Proven experience leading technology strategy and transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture and cloud-based platforms.
• Hands-on knowledge of at least two of the following:

• C#, Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP

• CISSP certification is desirable, particularly as GardX progresses toward ISO accreditation, supporting strong information security governance and compliance.
