We’re on the lookout for a proactive and detail-driven Marketing Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this fast-paced role, you’ll be the driving force behind daily content updates across multiple international websites

The successful candidate will work alongside the Marketing Team, and will handle the day-to-day website content updates for (but not limited to) Hive.co.uk, Gardners EU and Gardners US, as well as email support.

You will be proactive, keeping on top of current trends, news, key releases to ensure the websites are all up-to-date at all times. You will build and manage your own schedules to ensure future content is planned and scheduled in. With each website having a different audience, you will need to cater for them accordingly, considering the different markets, locations, time-zones and customer bases.

You’ll work on a number of key administration tasks, across promotions, invoicing and reporting where required.

You will assist in curating content and listings to support your activity, whilst working with the wider team and business to ensure all messaging is consist across all of our channels.

The role will involve (but is not limited to):

  • Content updates on (but not limited to) Hive.co.uk, Gardners EU and Gardners US website.
  • Building and maintaining your own content schedules, factoring business and trade campaigns, awards, business requirements and seasonal activity.
  • Building monthly features on Hive.
  • Creation and management of bookshops on Hive
  • Curating listings and building promotions on Hive, as well as subsequent pages.
  • Researching content for new listings, keeping on top of trends and ensuring a good knowledge of key product releases.
  • Adhering to brand guides for each business.
  • Admin support within the team, including invoices, reporting, setting up promotions.

This role is fully office based within our Eastbourne offices. The working hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. There may also be events you would attend during the year, potentially covering a weekend or two.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have excellent copywriting and proofing skills.
  • Have Impeccable attention to detail, in copy, design and content.
  • Be extremely pro-active in coming up with new ideas, sourcing content and making updates without prompts.
  • Have excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Have an interest in books and reading would be beneficial.
  • A strong team ethic, willing to support the whole team on any tasks and collaborate.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Previous experience working within an office environment. Within marketing would be an advantage.
  • Have a very keen interest in books and reading.
  • Someone with their eyes and ears to the ground across popular media, to keep up to date with trends/current affairs.
