Derby | Full-Time | £18.01 per hour
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder to join our busy manufacturing operation at our Derby site. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a high-performance aerospace environment, where quality, precision, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do.
Working Hours: 39 hours
Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm

Purpose of role and accountabilities:
Experienced TIG welder required at Gardner aerospace Derby working in our welding department manufacturing components for the aerospace industry. Some job specific training will be available.
* TIG welding of Aluminium aircraft components
* Adjust sheet parts to fit weld jig
* Use Measuring equipment to confirm parts to drawing
* Strict adherence to health and safety, and standard operation protocols expected
* As part of your role you will be asked to support the Energy team and consider energy reduction and savings within the scope of your role leading to continuous improvement.
* Commitment to continual improvement in manufacturing, quality, health, safety environmental, energy and sustainability management.
Core skills/attributes needed:
* Aluminum welding experience in thin gauge sheet material is required
* Ability to understand and work from drawings would be an advantage
* Have some fabrication experience using various basic hand tools
* Good practical skills
* Ability to work in cross-functional teams to deliver parts on time
* Problem analysis and decision making
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and other modern manufacturing methods
* Adhere and follow ISO 50001/14001/45001/9001 procedures
The employee must also strive to support the elements of the SQCDP framework of the wider Gardner business; xiskglj
Safety: work in line with all accredited company safety standards in order to provide a safe working environment for all
Quality: support the quality accreditations across the business to ensure the delivery of a ‘right first time’ performance
Cost: support the continuous improvements in cost reduction activities across the company in order to deliver increased profitability and value for money to our customers and stakeholders
Delivery: drive improvement in delivery performance to continually exceed customer expectations and targets
