We are looking for an experienced Quality Systems Engineer to join our team at Gardener Aerospace. The role is fully remote, but you will be expected to visit sites a couple of times a month. This role would suit an individual who is proactive, inquisitive, and able to challenge existing ways of working to support the development of structured and effective business processes.
System knowledge of the following would be beneficial: SharePoint, Infor, EPR.
Salary: £47,000 per annum
Working Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 8.00am – 5.00pm
- Friday: 8.00am – 1.00pm

Purpose of role and key accountabilities:
- Support the Head of BMS and Systems in the coordination, development, and continual improvement of the Business Management System across Gardner Aerospace.
- Provide group-level support to ensure consistency in business systems, processes, and associated documentation across multiple sites.
- Support the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of business systems and associated digital tools.
- Assist in the standardisation of processes, templates, and system-based ways of working across the business, including alignment to group initiatives such as Q Drive.
- Support the development, review, and maintenance of BMS documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and associated templates.
- Support internal audit activities and follow-up actions in relation to BMS compliance and system effectiveness.
- Support KPI data collation, analysis, and reporting to aid system performance monitoring and business review.
- Support cross-functional improvement activities linked to process effectiveness, compliance, and standardisation.
- Support structured problem-solving and corrective action activities where required.
- Promote a culture of standardisation, compliance, and continuous improvement across the business.
- Support the development and structuring of the business process landscape across the organisation.
Core skills/attributes needed:
- Experience working within a structured business environment (e.g. ISO-certified or equivalent).
- Ability to understand, map, and document business processes in a clear and structured way.
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders across different functions to understand requirements and translate them into practical processes.
- Experience in, or exposure to, internal auditing (process and/or system auditing).
- Understanding of process-based management systems and how business processes interact.
- Experience supporting or working with business systems and digital tools (e.g. ERP, document control, or similar platforms).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks in a structured manner.
- Good IT skills, including use of standard business systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Performance will be reviewed through regular appraisal with the Line Manager to assess progress, development, and ongoing training needs.
- Experience using process mapping or visualisation tools (e.g. Visio or equivalent) is desirable.
