Basildon | EHS Officer We are seeking an experienced EHS Officer to join our manufacturing team in Basildon.

Salary💷 £35,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience Hours Monday – Thursday: 8.00am - 17.00pm Friday - 8.00am to 12.00pm Benefits * Competitive salary * Company pension scheme * 25 days annual leave + 8 statutory holidays, Christmas shut down * Death in Service benefit * Long Service awards Purpose of role and accountabilities:

  • Support compliance with EHS legislation, company standards and site procedures.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, internal and external audits and risk assessments.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate EHS training, inductions and awareness activities.
  • Maintain EHS records, reports and performance data.
  • Support emergency preparedness, fire safety and occupational health programmes.
  • Monitor contractor and employee compliance with safe working practices.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Core skills/attributes needed:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH or equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and risk assessment processes.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO50001 is desirable.

  • People: support organizational capability and influence cultural change by embracing diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and community NOTE: Due to the nature of this role and the security requirements linked to projects with the UK Ministry of Defence, applicants must be eligible for UK Security Clearance
