We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder to join our busy manufacturing operation at our Derby site. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a high-performance aerospace environment, where quality, precision, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do.
Working Hours: 39 hours
- Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm

Purpose of role and accountabilities:
- Experienced TIG welder required at Gardner aerospace Derby working in our welding department manufacturing components for the aerospace industry. Some job specific training will be available.
- TIG welding of Aluminium aircraft components
- Adjust sheet parts to fit weld jig
- Use Measuring equipment to confirm parts to drawing
- Strict adherence to health and safety, and standard operation protocols expected
- As part of your role you will be asked to support the Energy team and consider energy reduction and savings within the scope of your role leading to continuous improvement.
- Commitment to continual improvement in manufacturing, quality, health, safety environmental, energy and sustainability management.
Core skills/attributes needed:
- Aluminum welding experience in thin gauge sheet material is required
- Ability to understand and work from drawings would be an advantage
- Have some fabrication experience using various basic hand tools
- Good practical skills
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams to deliver parts on time
- Problem analysis and decision making
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and other modern manufacturing methods
- Adhere and follow ISO 50001/14001/45001/9001 procedures
