CNC Machine Setter – Days & Nights in Consett | Manufacturing Environment

We are currently recruiting for a CNC Machine Setter (Days & Nights) to join our manufacturing team at our Consett site. This role is for an experienced Machinist who already has hands-on experience in CNC milling within a precision-driven manufacturing environment.

Salary: £51,180 per annum (including 28.5% shift allowance)

Working Hours: 40.25 hours / 4 Shift Pattern / Days = 06:00-18:00 / Nights = 18:00-06:00

Purpose of role and key accountabilities:

  • To produce precision components from drawings using CNC machines.
  • Produce accurate, high-quality components with maximum efficiency.
  • Competently set and operate CNC machines – Mazak in particular.
  • Work to tight tolerances and check your own work meets the required standard.
  • Work on your own initiative and understand all aspects of the manufacturing process.
  • Quality check all finished jobs.
  • Clean and maintain CNC machine and all associated equipment and machine area.

Core skills/attributes needed:

  • Fully skilled time served CNC setter/operator (certificates required).
  • Experience of Mazak milling machines – 3, 4 & 5 Axis.
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Aerospace experience.
  • Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment.
  • Heidenhain, Mazatrol and Fanuc experience.
  • Computer literate.
  • Able to concentrate to enable quality finished components.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Able to apply good practical skills.
  • Ability to follow written instructions.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Able to work safely.
  • Able to undertake shift working, including nights.
  • Excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
  • Normal colour vision.
