Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an HR Administrator/Assistant. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build a solid foundation in Human Resources while developing your skills and knowledge within a supportive and professional environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to further develop a long-term career in Human Resources. You will be responsible for all aspects of administration for the Employee Lifecycle as well as first line of support to both employees and people managers. Experience in a HR environment is essential.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 or above in Maths and English (essential)
  • A Level or NVQ Grade C or above (desirable)
  • Level 3 HR Support CIPD (desirable but not essential)
  • Business administration and IT systems and software (ideally within HR) demonstrating good time management and organisational skills
  • Working with and supporting employees and Line Managers
  • Previous experience in a commercial business

  • In all contacts (internal and external) present a professional image of Gardline and the HR department and maintain own personal and professional development.
  • As an employee, help maintain our organisation's quality, safety and environmental management system in the process of continuous improvement.
  • As an employee, you assume, within your range of duties, your responsibility in following all of the measures taken by the company with regard to quality, safety and the environment.

Additional Information

  • First line HR support to the business
  • Managing HR inbox to ensure timely and accurate action and response to enquiries and needs ensuring appropriate HR lead made aware of requirements
  • Prepare HR documentation such as contract amendments and reference letters
  • Process employee onboarding and offboarding activities including exit interviews
  • Maintenance and day to day management of employee files to ensure up to date and accurate
  • Input people metrics into bids/tenders for projects
  • Performance management
  • Disciplinary investigations as required
  • Provide support and advice to line managers on performance improvement plans
  • Guidance and monitoring of Probation Reviews supporting line managers as required
  • Annual appraisal data input and monitoring
  • Document, review and investigate sickness absence in conjunction with the HR Advisor, as per the company’s sickness absence management procedure including the monitoring and reporting of triggers to provide proactive support to managers in managing sickness absence
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of maternity and paternity leave (and other forms of leave)
  • Eye care vouchers

  • Publication / presentation award payment
  • Prepare new contracts and ensure accurate processing of new starters, leavers and internal moves including appropriate HR system set up and access (including ID badges)
