We are looking for a Project Cost Consultant to support the growth of the business and delivery of world class service to our diverse client base. The role involves working with high profile built environment projects, including office, fit out and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Understanding core procurement and contract options; taking market soundings, establishing supply chain, reporting results, and developing inputs into procurement strategy.
- Developing and preparing full suite of tender documents.
- Leading tender evaluation process, including reviewing and analysing tender returns and chairing evaluation meetings; drafting Tender Reports for client approval.
- Negotiating and collating contract documents with client teams and contractors; stakeholder engagement.
- Strong report writing, production and presentation skills including use of relevant role‑related software.
- Monitoring construction budgets, preparing detailed cost reports, cash‑flow forecasts, financial analysis; managing post‑contract change control (preferably JCT suite of contracts).
- Assessing works completed for payment applications, negotiating and preparing final accounts, identifying and assessing risks, and providing proactive advice to avoid disputes and delays.
- Using CostX measurement tool; preparing detailed cost estimates, cost plans, and evaluating cost impacts of design changes; conducting market testing of costs.
- Bridging benchmarking gaps and undertaking detailed reconciliations tracking cost movement across stages.
About You
- Degree qualified.
- MRICS preferred, but not essential; training support provided.
- Pre and post contract experience.
- Experience with construction contract terms, preferably JCT Design & Build.
- Experience in a consultancy environment (desirable).
- Can work on own initiative and is a strategic thinker.
- Client focused, committed to excellent client service.
- Understanding of market issues and events.
- Positive attitude with willingness to involve in business‑wide initiatives.
- Experienced in Microsoft platforms.
- Excellent communication and coordination with internal teams, client, and project teams.
