Diesel Technicians / Mechanics needed immediately at Garber Chevrolet in Highland, Indiana. We are offering top pay and benefits for qualified candidates, including the opportunity for relocation and signing bonuses! Immediate opening due to a huge increase in Commercial Truck and Van Business. Must be able to work on General Motors vehicles including Chevrolet and GMC and/or Ford and Ram 2500 3500 4500 5500 and 6500 Series Trucks.
This role is responsible for providing service to our customers while maintaining exceptional customer service. The successful team member has at least one year of fleet, dealership, and/or technical school experience.
Duties can include:
- Cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, and removal of parts and attachments.
- Installation with the help of proper manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, and reconditioning.

Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
- Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Qualifications
- ASE certifications are ideal
- Strong automotive background
- Strong teamwork skills
- Willing to submit to a drug screen & background check
- Must have clean & valid driver's license
- General Motors experience is a plus
