You are the face of our company in a homeowner's driveway. You will service and repair garage doors and openers, help homeowners understand their options, and turn honest recommendations into repairs, upgrades, and new door sales. This role blends hands-on service with consultative selling β whether you come from sales and are mechanically inclined, or from the trades and enjoy working with customers, we will train you on the rest.
What You'll Do
- Learn to diagnose, repair, and tune residential garage doors, springs, cables, rollers, and openers
- Perform a safety inspection and preventative maintenance on every call
- Explain findings in plain language and present repair or replacement options with honest pricing
- Recommend and sell upgrades and replacements β new doors, insulated panels, smart openers, higher-cycle springs β when they genuinely fit the home
- Follow up on open quotes and build repeat and referral business in your territory
- Document work, photos, and invoices accurately before leaving the job
- Follow all safety procedures, especially around torsion springs and electrical components
The Sales Piece
Most of our growth comes from homeowners who trusted the tech in front of them. Sales skills matter here, but we are not looking for a high-pressure closer. We are looking for someone who shows the customer the worn cable, explains what happens if it snaps, quotes it fairly, and is just as respectful if the answer is "not today." Do that consistently and the bigger jobs take care of themselves.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in in-home or outside sales (home services, HVAC, roofing, windows, or similar), garage door service, or a mechanical trade β no garage door experience required
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable with hand tools, with a willingness to be trained on doors, openers, and torsion springs to our safety standard
- Clean driving record and valid driver's license
- Able to lift 75 lbs, work on ladders, and work in unconditioned spaces
- Clear, calm communicator who can talk to a homeowner without jargon
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a track record of building customer trust and closing sales the right way
- Honest to a fault β you never recommend a part the home doesn't need
- Basic comfort with a tablet or phone for invoicing, photos, and scheduling
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly pay plus performance bonus β no commission-only pressure
- Paid hands-on technical training, plus manufacturer training and certification
- Steady year-round residential work
We offer a competitive compensation, paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), 401k with company match, health, dental and life insurance.
