Reporting directly to the National Sales Manager, this is an autonomous field-based role with the main purpose of securing and managing merchant and door specialist accounts within your area.
South West of England
Principle Accountabilities:
- Secure new sales in line with monthly targets for volume and profitability.
- Continually seek out new potential that may arise from specialist distributors and installers within the area for either new accounts or “back selling” opportunities.
- Work with branch and area merchant managers to enhance relationships and trading compliance.
- Lead / assist with negotiation of trading agreements within garage door specialists and builders / developers where required.
Liaise closely with Head Office teams to ensure a smooth flow of information and a commitment to customer support.
- Deliver customer training in small groups at customer premises and participate in delivering regular customer training seminars at the Head Office.
- Ensure close profitable customer contact is developed and maintained.
- Provide weekly management reports and updates as requested with attendance at quarterly monthly sales meetings.
- Accurately undertake all administration and communication duties associated with the role
- Occasionally entertain customers, both on your own and also for visits at the Yeovil factory.
- Occasionally support customers at trade shows / exhibitions
You are expected to work with the minimum of supervision and will be expected to deal with other duties appropriate to your skill set and abilities.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education/Training/Qualifications (Essential/Desirable):
- Educated to GCSE or equivalent.
- Qualification/higher education in a relevant subject, i.e.; NVQ’s, Diplomas, Degrees
- Works effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Proficient in the operation of computerised / manual systems
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally at all levels with internal and external contacts.
Experience (Essential):
- Successful track record and background in working with or for builder’s merchants
- Up to date understanding of Health and Safety legislation and good practice.
- Sales knowledge within industries
Other Requirements (Essential):
- Flexibility – able to work outside of normal working hours as required, i.e., evenings/weekends at trade shows/exhibitions.
- Able and keen to quickly become familiar with new systems/processes
