Job Title: Vegetation & Pest Control Operative
Location: East London / Essex (Mobile Patch)
Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 Basic + Enhanced OOH Rates + On-Call Retainer + Van & Fuel Card
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Vegetation & Pest Control Operative to cover a long-term commercial station portfolio across East London and Essex. The role primarily focuses on planned vegetation management and weed control across site boundaries, alongside reactive maintenance and rodent control/proofing.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) including vegetation clearance, weed management, and pest control across regional station sites.
- Respond to reactive call-outs for vegetation overgrowth, emergency pest control, and proofing works.
- Safely operate handheld machinery and apply herbicides in line with industry compliance.
- Assist the wider field maintenance team on larger site clearance projects as required.
Requirements & Tickets
- PA1 & PA6 Herbicide Spraying Certificates (Highly Preferred)
- Proven experience operating Strimmers, Hedge Cutters, and Chainsaws
- Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
- PTS (Personal Track Safety) or previous rail/infrastructure experience is a bonus, but full PTS training will be provided for the right candidate. xgikmsk
