£35,000-£40,000 basic plus potential out-of-hours work supplementary payment and standby retainer We are recruiting for a well-established contractor that delivers maintenance, civil engineering and infrastructure works across the UK.

The business has a strong track record in rail and works directly across live, operational environments.

It has recently secured a new contract covering 26 railway stations and is now looking for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Operative to carry out day-to-day reactive and planned works across the portfolio.

The role will focus mainly on building fabric maintenance, carpentry and small remedial works.

You will be a mobile operative, working closely with the delivery team to ensure all station repairs are completed safely, on time and to a high standard.

Day-to-day, the role will include: Carrying out reactive building maintenance and fabric repairs across 26 stations Handling carpentry, lock changes, glazing and minor roofing works Assisting with drainage, groundwork and general station upkeep Completing scheduled planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks (primarily drainage-focused) Responding to emergency maintenance requests during working hours and as part of an on-call rota Ensuring all works are carried out safely, in line with rail safety protocols and compliance standards Keeping accurate digital records of completed jobs and materials used This would suit someone who is an all-round, hands-on trade specialist who enjoys mobile work, variety and the stability of working on a major infrastructure contract.

You will need a strong background in carpentry and general building maintenance, with a broad skillset covering secondary trades and a valid UK driving licence.

Previous rail experience and a PTS card would be useful, but the company is open to candidates from domestic, commercial or industrial maintenance backgrounds who have the right trade skills.
