Control System Design Engineer

We're recruiting for an established international engineering and manufacturing business looking for a Control System Design Engineer to join its engineering team in Droitwich Spa.
This is a hands-on design role covering control systems, electrical schematics, engineering change control and technical documentation, with involvement from initial design through manufacture, testing and commissioning.
What you'll be doing:
- Design and develop control panels, electrical schematics and control system solutions
- Produce and review P&IDs, block diagrams, Sequences of Operation, specifications and technical documentation
- Manage drawing revisions and engineering change control
- Maintain accurate BOM, routing and technical documentation
- Support New Product Introduction and the transition from design into production
- Participate in DFMA, value engineering and product standardisation activity
- Attend internal and customer design reviews
- Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing and support Site Acceptance Testing and commissioning
- Provide technical support to production teams and help resolve build issues
- Work closely with manufacturing, project management and customers across multiple projects
What we're looking for
You'll need previous experience in control system design within building services, industrial controls or a similar engineering environment.
You should also have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience designing electrical control systems and control panels
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, PLCs and HMIs
- Experience with engineering change control and BOM management
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks Electrical
- Experience supporting manufacture, testing and commissioning
- Strong problem-solving, organisation and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
Experience within a manufacturing environment, including NPI, DFMA, lean manufacturing or continuous improvement, would be advantageous.
This would suit an experienced Control System Design Engineer looking for a broad role combining design ownership, manufacturing support and involvement throughout the full engineering lifecycle.
