Control System Design Engineer Droitwich Spa | Permanent | Full-time | 100% On-site We're recruiting for an established international engineering and manufacturing business looking for a Control System Design Engineer to join its engineering team in Droitwich Spa. This is a hands-on design role covering control systems, electrical schematics, engineering change control and technical documentation, with involvement from initial design through manufacture, testing and commissioning.
What you'll be doing:
Design and develop control panels, electrical schematics and control system solutions Produce and review P&IDs, block diagrams, Sequences of Operation, specifications and technical documentation Manage drawing revisions and engineering change control Maintain accurate BOM, routing and technical documentation Support New Product Introduction and the transition from design into production Participate in DFMA, value engineering and product standardisation activity Attend internal and customer design reviews Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing and support Site Acceptance Testing and commissioning Provide technical support to production teams and help resolve build issues Work closely with manufacturing, project management and customers across multiple projects What we're looking for You'll need previous experience in control system design within building services, industrial controls or a similar engineering environment. You should also have: A degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation Engineering or a related discipline Experience designing electrical control systems and control panels Strong understanding of electrical schematics, PLCs and HMIs Experience with engineering change control and BOM management Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks Electrical Experience supporting manufacture, testing and commissioning Strong problem-solving, organisation and communication skills Full UK driving licence Experience within a manufacturing environment, including NPI, DFMA, lean manufacturing or continuous improvement, would be advantageous.
