ENGINEERING MANAGER - FOOD MANUFACTURING Location: Wrexham Salary: Β£70,000 We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance team at a busy food manufacturing site in Wrexham. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the engineering team, ensuring the team is well organised, supported and delivering a reliable maintenance service to the production operation. This is a people-focused leadership role, with responsibility for team performance, development, maintenance standards and equipment reliability. You will work closely with Production and other site functions, while supporting the wider engineering strategy set by the Head of Engineering. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead, manage and develop the site engineering and maintenance team. * Set clear expectations and ensure the team delivers against agreed maintenance and performance targets. * Manage team performance, including 1-to-1s, development, training and performance reviews. * Manage day-to-day engineering activities and prioritise work around production requirements. * Ensure planned and preventative maintenance is completed to the required standard. * Support the team with breakdowns and engineering issues, ensuring problems are resolved effectively. * Monitor equipment reliability and identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement. * Work closely with Production to minimise downtime and maintain an effective maintenance service. * Manage engineering contractors and external support when required. * Ensure engineering work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures and food manufacturing requirements. * Maintain appropriate engineering records, systems and maintenance standards. * Support engineering projects, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives. * Provide regular updates to the Head of Engineering on team performance, maintenance activity and key issues.
