Days Only (Mon-Fri)

Performance Objectives:

  • Hydrogen content testing
  • Tensile Testing
  • Vickers Micro-hardness & Rockwell hardness testing
  • Grain size Tests
  • Bend test
  • Potting-up & polishing samples for Metallographic testing
  • Alpha Case Testing
  • Intergranular Attack Testing
  • Heat Affected Zone Testing
  • Daily and Weekly Analysis of chemical process tanks, calculating & recommending additions of solution top-ups / New make-up
  • Manage laboratory stock levels, obtain quotes, order consumables, book goods in
  • Support test piece preparation (punching, cutting, drilling etc.)
  • Housekeeping duties
  • Participate in laboratory audits both internal and external
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.)
  • Operator overchecks
  • Internal Calibration of equipment
  • Archive/Storage of Test pieces

Person Specification:

Degree educated in a material science or minimum of 3 years working in a material testing environment.
