gap technical represents a global manufacturing business that is seeking a Project Estimator to join their team at a facility close to Welwyn Garden City.
Performance Objectives- Develop NPI projects with all relevant departments and manage projects through to successful completion.
- Support commercial requirements of the department and all other departments.
- Produce estimates, technical and manufacturing proposals to support bids and new business development.
- Evaluate and analyse customer datasets, specifications and condition of supply documentation to identify the need for raw material, bought-out and subcontract requirements.
- Liaise with Engineering, Operations and Purchasing teams to prepare robust competitive proposals for customers.
- Be a catalyst for change by providing leadership to drive through improvements.
- Ensure engineering and quality requirements for products are fully understood and met.
- Produce weekly and monthly quotation status reports.
- Chase through outstanding quotations via the Account Management Team.
- Produce and update monthly KPIs and take action to achieve targets.
- Develop, implement and sustain a safe working culture, ensuring Health & Safety requirements are complied with.
- Liaise with other leaders and functions as necessary and support customer visits as required.
- Ensure work is conducted in a safe environment according to safe practices and report any deviation from H&S good practice immediately.
- Preserve a close and collaborative relationship with all departments.
- Assist the team with any ad-hoc duties as required.
- Experienced in understanding technical drawings and BOMs with the ability to extract the relevant processes and materials for quotation.
- Expertise in estimating and quotation work.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements relating to manufacturing.
- Report writing and presentation skills.
- Ideally an engineering qualification.
- Operational qualification.
- Manufacturing aerospace industry experience.
- Knowledge of inspection procedures and standards.
- Knowledge of Aventa or similar.
- MS Project and Visio.
