Gap technical are proud to be representing a market leading engineering business in their search for an Electrical Site Manager to work at a Food Manufacturing Facility based in Wrexham.

Job Profile

The Electrical Site Manager will oversee the installation and repair of electrical systems and equipment at an FMCG manufacturing site. The role involves ensuring that all electrical activities comply with industry standards and regulations, managing a team of electricians, and collaborating with other departments to optimize production efficiency. The Electrical Site Manager will also have Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility, ensuring that electrical projects are cost-effective and contribute positively to the company's financial performance.

Performance Objectives

  • Project Management: Work with stakeholders to plan and manage electrical projects from inception to completion. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruptions to production. Organising Labour, Ordering Materials and managing projects. Generate electrical installation costings/quotations for all onsite electrical activities.
  • Installation: Oversee the installation of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Team Management: Lead, train, and supervise a team of electricians. Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and develop individual development plans for team members. Ensure the team follows all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant regulations, codes, and standards. Maintain accurate records of electrical work and inspections. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments. Generation of RAM's for installation works.
  • P&L Responsibility: Manage the electrical department's budget and financial performance. Monitor costs and expenses to assist in budget preparation. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on safety and quality. Ensure electrical projects contribute positively to the overall profitability of the company.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving electrical systems and processes. Implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Person Specification

  • Apprentice Trained in Electrical Engineering/Installation.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • 2391 Inspection and Testing.
  • ECS Managers (black card).
  • NICEIC Qualified Supervisor.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, SSSTS).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance and project management within the FMCG sector.
  • Proven track record of managing electrical projects and leading teams.
  • Experience in managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and equipment used in the Food Manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
