Engineering Team Leader
We are an established food manufacturing business based in Bolton, looking for an Engineering Team Leader to join our facility.
Salary: £58,000

Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritise engineering breakdowns, ensuring all work is completed quickly, safely, and effectively to minimise downtime.
- Coordinate the activities of shift engineers, ensuring all maintenance reports and documentation are completed accurately and issued within agreed timescales.
- Support the performance management and development of the engineering team through mentoring and guidance.
- Drive the achievement of Engineering KPIs and departmental targets.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the Engineering department to support business growth.
- Ensure compliance with all company procedures, Health & Safety regulations, and Food Hygiene standards, addressing issues fairly, consistently, and promptly.
- Maintain all plant and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
- Participate in both reactive and planned maintenance programmes to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and full utilisation of the CMMS system.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with Production and other support functions, ensuring clear communication and regular feedback.
- Identify and implement labour‑saving and productivity improvement initiatives in collaboration with production teams.
- Provide engineering support, technical guidance, and training to Line Technicians and operational staff.
Qualifications
- Good engineering knowledge gained within an FMCG environment.
- Self‑managed and able to influence others to gain their maximum performance.
- HNC or NVQ3 or higher in engineering with supervisory experience – ideally.
- Good communication and IT skills.
