We are seeking a skilled Contract Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support one of our key manufacturing clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring machinery uptime, carrying out preventive maintenance, and responding to breakdowns efficiently. This is a great opportunity for an experienced professional looking for contract work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of production machinery.
- Conduct planned and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems, PLCs, motors, inverters, and control panels.
- Work closely with mechanical engineers and production teams to optimize equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies.
- Document maintenance work and update relevant records.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Proven experience in electrical maintenance within manufacturing, FMCG, food, or industrial sectors.
- Knowledge of PLC fault-finding.
- Experience with electrical circuits, motors, control panels, and safety circuits.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Understanding of health & safety procedures and compliance.
Desirable:
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Experience in automated production environments.
- Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
