gap technical are proud to be representing this manufacturing business in their search for a Quality Control Inspector to work at their facility based near Welwyn Garden City.
Performance Objectives
- Inspection of Inbound Goods: Verify incoming components, materials, and paperwork against customer specifications, drawings, and purchase orders. Check for raw material certification, supplier Certificates of Conformance (CofC), and compliance with traceability regulations. In accordance with business protocols, reject, quarantine, and report non-conforming products.
- Inspection of Dispatch and Final Release: Check completed goods for compliance with customer specifications, drawings, and routings. Before shipping, confirm that the packaging, labelling, and dispatch documentation are all in compliance. Before releasing, confirm that all records are correct and comprehensive by signing off on CofCs.
- Inspection in Process: At crucial points in the manufacturing process, perform in-process inspections to verify specification compliance. To guarantee that quality standards are fulfilled, and problems are escalated as soon as possible, collaborate closely with production teams. As needed, create inspection reports and assist with Concessions and RMAs.
- General Inspection Duties: Utilize measuring tools like CMMs, callipers, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, and thickness gauges. Keep inspection equipment in top shape, making sure everything is functional and properly calibrated. Handle non-conformance reports and get involved in root cause investigations. Adhere to quality procedures (AS9100) and meet both company and customer quality standards. Maintain excellent organization of records, specifications, work areas, and digital data.
Person Specification
- A-C GCSE Level or equivalent in English and Maths
- Recognised quality qualification
- Experienced in inspection protocols
- Experienced in aerospace final inspection protocols (Goods In, Dispatch, or In-Process).
- Competent with inspection equipment and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Must be computer literate
Desirable
- Audit trained
- 3 years' Experience in an Inspection and Aerospace Industry
- IT proficiency (ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office).
