gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Project Estimator to work at their facility based near Welwyn Garden City.
Performance Objectives- Develop NPI projects with all relevant departments and manage projects through to successful completion.
- Support commercial requirements of the department and all other departments.
- Produce estimates, technical and manufacturing proposals to support bids and new business development.
- Evaluation and analysis of customer datasets, specifications and condition of supply documentation in order to identify the need for raw material, bought out and subcontract requirements.
- Liaise with Engineering, Operations and Purchasing teams in order to prepare robust competitive proposals for customers.
- Be a catalyst for change by providing leadership to manage driving through improvements changes.
- Ensure engineering and quality requirements for products are fully understood and met.
- Produce weekly and monthly quotation status reports.
- Chase through outstanding quotations via the Account Management Team.
- Produce & update monthly KPIs. Take actions to achieve target.
- Develop, implement & sustain a safe working culture ensuring Health & Safety requirements are complied with.
- Liaise with other leaders and other functions as necessary and support customer visits as required.
- Ensure that work is conducted in a safe environment according to safe practices - report deviation from H&S good practice immediately.
- Preserve a close and collaborative relationship with all departments.
- Assisting team with any ad hoc duties as required.
- Experienced in understanding technical drawings and BOM's with the ability to extract the relevant processes and materials for quotation.
- Estimating and quotation work.
- Solid understanding of Engineering principles.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements relating to manufacturing.
- Report writing & presentation skills.
- Ideally an Engineering qualification.
- Operational qualification.
- Manufacturing Aerospace Industry experience.
- Knowledge of Inspection procedures & standards.
- Knowledge of Aventa or similar.
- MS Project & Visio.
