Gap Technical is proud to represent a leading manufacturer in their search for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team at a state-of-the-art facility in Warrington.
As a key member of the maintenance team, you will play a vital role in supporting 24/7 production operations. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and improving machinery, minimising downtime, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance are upheld across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance across a variety of process & packaging equipment
- Minimise Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) by employing recognised fault-finding techniques and a fix-first-time approach.
- Maximise Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) through effective execution of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) using industry best practices.
- Accurately record maintenance activities using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Report equipment faults, breakdown root causes, and performance concerns to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in developing robust PPM schedules and continuous improvement projects.
- Support visiting contractors and OEM engineers as needed.
- Ensure all work is conducted safely using dynamic risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Person Specification
- Recognised apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline.
- HNC, (highly desirable)
- Multi-skilled with proven experience in electrical control, PLC systems, and automation.
- Skilled in the use of CMMS systems and proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Familiar with lean tools such as OEE, 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement techniques.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work unsupervised.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a growing maintenance culture.
