Performance Objectives:
- Preparing and delivering proposals to support sales efforts and drive through to completion.
- Ensuring that proposals are in line with corporate branding and agreed styles.
- Interacting with customers and suppliers to understand requirements and specifications.
- Collaborating with Commercial, Tooling, Engineering and Quality to formulate bid processes for customer requests.
- Ensuring timescales are achieved at each step of the bid process, including all internal governance, while taking the initiative in setting realistic deadlines.
- Gathering and analysing technical and financial data for future bids and developing, reviewing and improving processes, on an ongoing basis, to create quality proposal documents.
- Providing and meeting departmental KPIs.
Person Specification:
- A-C GCSE Level or equivalent in English, Maths & Physics.
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering - Equivalent or above.
- Advanced level CAM.
- Experience of tool design and manufacture in various materials.
- CAD 2D/3D software for drafting & modelling.
- Experience with proposal development and sales support.
- Good understanding of the Design for Manufacture philosophy to enable right first-time customer bids.
- Ability/experience of using online customer portals to manage tenders.
- Understanding of Hard Metal forming techniques.
- Report writing & presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- PC literate with intermediate skills in Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
Desirable:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in the Aircraft Industry.
- Experience of Hot forming, SPF, Presswork.
- MS Project & Visio & project management.
