Salary: £60,000 - £65,000

Working Pattern: 4 on 4 off 6 - 6 (4 days / 4 nights)

gap technical is proud to be representing a leading FMCG/food manufacturing business in its search for an Engineering Team Leader to join a modern production facility near North London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the engineering team to ensure rapid response to equipment breakdowns, minimising production downtime and maintaining operational performance.
  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities, prioritising workloads and implementing corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership in fault finding and root cause analysis, supporting engineers and operators with complex maintenance and continuous development.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to maximise equipment uptime while ensuring all engineering activities comply with health & safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, monitor engineering performance metrics, and support effective planning and resource allocation across the department.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience leading teams in an engineering function.
  • Previous experience within food, FMCG, or packaging manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
