A site-based role focused on improving asset reliability, reducing downtime, and driving long-term maintenance effectiveness. The role combines hands-on engineering support with proactive reliability engineering, making it ideal for an experienced engineer looking to influence asset strategy while remaining technically involved.

Performance Objectives

  • Support and implement Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programmes
  • Analyse asset and maintenance data to identify reliability risks and improvement opportunities
  • Develop and monitor KPIs including OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance effectiveness
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) on recurring failures
  • Carry out Asset Care Assessments to identify gaps and risks within existing maintenance strategies
  • Support condition monitoring activities such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and adopt new reliability technologies
  • Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to embed best practices
  • Provide technical coaching and support to site-based engineering teams

Person Specification

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance, reliability, or engineering roles
  • Strong knowledge of RCM, PdM, RCA, FMEA, and reliability engineering tools
  • Hands-on mechanical and electrical fault-finding experience
  • Experience working with CMMS systems such as SAP or Maximo
  • Confident using data analysis tools including Excel and/or Power BI
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification (ECITB / CompEx Ex11 advantageous)
  • Level 3 Electrical qualification (NVQ / Diploma - 18th Edition desirable)
  • Reliability certifications such as ARP, CMRP, or CRL
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification
