Boltongap technical are representing an established food manufacturing business in their search for an Engineering Team Leader to join their facility in Bolton.

Performance Objectives:
  • Manage and prioritise engineering breakdowns, ensuring all work is completed quickly, safely, and effectively to minimise downtime.
  • Coordinate the activities of shift engineers, ensuring all maintenance reports and documentation are completed accurately and issued within agreed timescales.
  • Support the performance management and development of the engineering team through mentoring and guidance.
  • Drive the achievement of Engineering KPIs and departmental targets.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the Engineering department to support business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all company procedures, Health & Safety regulations, and Food Hygiene standards, addressing issues fairly, consistently, and promptly.
  • Maintain all plant and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
  • Participate in both reactive and planned maintenance programmes to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and full utilisation of the CMMS system.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with Production and other support functions, ensuring clear communication and regular feedback.
  • Identify and implement labour-saving and productivity improvement initiatives in collaboration with production teams.
  • Provide engineering support, technical guidance, and training to Line Technicians and operational staff.
Person Specification:
  • Good Engineering Knowledge gained within an FMCG environment.
  • Self-managed and able to influence others to gain their maximum performance.
  • HNC or NVQ3 or higher in engineering with Supervisory experience - Ideally.
  • Good communication and IT skills.
