Performance Objectives- Operate hand routers to trim, cut, and shape composite and metallic materials according to precise specifications and engineering drawings.
- Set up workpieces and secure them properly using clamps, fixtures, or jigs before routing.
- Follow detailed work instructions to ensure accurate material removal and finishing.
- Inspect finished components to verify conformance to specifications, using precision measuring tools such as callipers, micrometres, and gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance on hand routers, including sharpening bits, changing router bits, and ensuring tools are in good working condition.
- Work closely with quality control and engineering teams to address any discrepancies or issues in the fabrication process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Document work performed, including time spent, materials used, and any deviations from standard procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
- 2+ years of experience operating hand routers in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, and work orders.
- Experience working with aerospace materials such as composites, aluminium, and titanium.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise routing operations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing to a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate components.
