Performance Objectives
  • Operate hand routers to trim, cut, and shape composite and metallic materials according to precise specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Set up workpieces and secure them properly using clamps, fixtures, or jigs before routing.
  • Follow detailed work instructions to ensure accurate material removal and finishing.
  • Inspect finished components to verify conformance to specifications, using precision measuring tools such as callipers, micrometres, and gauges.
  • Perform routine maintenance on hand routers, including sharpening bits, changing router bits, and ensuring tools are in good working condition.
  • Work closely with quality control and engineering teams to address any discrepancies or issues in the fabrication process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Document work performed, including time spent, materials used, and any deviations from standard procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
Person Specification
  • 2+ years of experience operating hand routers in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace industry.
