Gap Technical Ltd are recruiting for a Controls Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business. This role will focus on PLC programming, automation support, and HMI development, working with modern industrial control systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with strong experience in Mitsubishi and Siemens PLC platforms who enjoys troubleshooting, improving automation systems, and supporting production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- PLC programming and modification using Mitsubishi GX Works and Siemens TIA Portal
- Development and maintenance of Beijer E-Series HMI interfaces
- Diagnosing and resolving automation and control system faults
- Supporting commissioning and upgrades of control systems
- Working with sensors, drives, and field devices within automated systems
- Maintaining PLC/HMI backups and documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing
Required Experience
- Proven experience in a Controls Engineer / Automation Engineer role
- Strong PLC programming experience with: Mitsubishi GX Works, Siemens TIA Portal
- Experience configuring Beijer E-Series HMI
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
- Experience working within manufacturing or industrial automation environments
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
