gap technical are proud to be representing this manufacturing business in their search for a Automation Technician to work at their facility based near Wrexham
Performance Objectives
Assemble and wire automation equipment and control panels to engineering specifications.
Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, drawings, and BOMs.
Perform functional testing and fault-finding on completed builds.
Support installation and commissioning activities on-site when required.
Maintain high standards of safety, quality, housekeeping and documentation throughout the build process.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to report build issues to improve build efficiency and product reliability.Person Specification
Proven experience in automation equipment build or industrial electrical/mechanical assembly.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Self-motivated and able to work independently without supervision.
Capable of working under pressure and achieving tight deadlines.
Relevant technical qualification Minimum Level 3 (e.g., NVQ, ONC, HNC, or equivalent in
Electrical/Mechanical Engineering).
Willingness to travel occasionally for site installations and support.Desirable:
Experience with pneumatic systems and industrial robotics.
Strong understanding of control systems, PLCs, sensors, and actuators.
Familiarity with safety standards and CE marking requirements.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.Apply
