Assistant Engineer Salary: £26,897 Per Annum Location: Stafford 12 Hour Shifts Covering Days, Nights & Weekends Gap Technical is proud to be partnering with a leading retailer in the search for Assistant Engineers to join their team at a modern, high-tech distribution centre. The Assistant Engineer will provide both proactive and reactive support for all automated systems on site. You\’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where your efforts directly impact operational performance, equipment availability, and site productivity. Operational Engineering Respond to conveyor system jams and stoppages Reset emergency stop buttons as required Log issues and complete maintenance records using computerised systems Always promote and maintain safe working practices, escalating H&S concerns as needed Support continuous improvement initiatives by reporting recurring issues and suggesting solutions Ensure high availability of equipment to support warehouse operations Conduct routine cleaning of automation equipment in line with hygiene standardsDesirable Qualifications & Experience Basic qualifications & computer literacy. Good level of communication. Understanding of safe systems of work. Experience with conveyor systems Experience of planned preventative maintenance programmes.
