Gap Talent is representing a well-established automotive service provider in the search for a qualified and experienced Ford Master Technician to join their workshop team based in Kingston, Jamaica. This opportunity is suited to a highly skilled technician with strong diagnostic capability and extensive experience working to Ford manufacturer standards. The role involves international relocation and is therefore only suitable for candidates willing to relocate.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for advanced diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of Ford vehicles, supporting both light-duty and commercial fleets while ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out advanced diagnostics using Ford IDS/FDRS and approved diagnostic tools
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults
- Perform repairs across engine, transmission, driveline, braking, suspension, and steering systems
- Ensure all work complies with Ford manufacturer standards and safety requirements
- Complete job cards, diagnostic reports, and warranty documentation accurately
- Support and mentor junior technicians where required
- Liaise with service advisors regarding technical findings and repair recommendations
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
- Keep technical knowledge up to date with Ford systems and training bulletins
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Ford Master Technician certification (current or recently held) – essential
- Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience working on Ford vehicles
- Strong diagnostic capability across modern petrol and diesel engines
- Experience with commercial vehicles and fleet maintenance preferred
- Proven ability to work independently on complex technical issues
- Valid driver’s licence
Technical Skills
- Advanced fault-finding and root-cause analysis
- Electrical and electronic systems diagnostics
- Use of OEM diagnostic platforms and workshop equipment
- Strong understanding of warranty repair processes
