The Role:
The Design Manager – Architecture & Brand Standards will oversee the architectural design process across a range of hospitality projects. This is a management position with responsibility for leading a team and ensuring brand consistency, operational efficiency, and quality throughout the design and development lifecycle. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, consultants, and project managers to safeguard the integrity of the company’s brand and design standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of design professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
- Manage architectural design projects and processes, or assigned segments of larger developments.
- Maintain and evolve corporate brand standards, ensuring they remain relevant and aligned with best practices.
- Provide design-related guidance and support to project managers, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Create, manage, and distribute corporate documentation, including design review templates, approval processes, and communication guidelines.
- Review contracts, scopes of work, deliverables, schedules, and budgets with appointed architectural consultants in collaboration with project managers.
- Evaluate architectural material submissions for compliance with brand standards and specifications.
- Track and record all architectural design phase deliverables.
- Collaborate with Technical Services and Property Management to prepare review reports and recommendations.
- Identify the need for specialist consultants on projects and coordinate their involvement.
- Participate in pre-opening inspections and punch lists, focusing on architectural elements and finishes.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related discipline.
- Proven experience managing architectural design processes within hospitality, real estate, or mixed-use developments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in managing and developing teams.
- Strong knowledge of brand standards, operational design requirements, and construction processes.
- Excellent coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
