We're an established, growing SME, which means the person in this role won't be a number.
Your ideas on workflow, layout and process will be heard and acted on.
The role in one line: Run the floor of one of the North East's busiest appliance refurbishment operations, a hands-on leadership role with a team of 9, a direct line to the Director of Operations, and real influence over how the operation grows.
What you'll do
Lead, motivate and develop a team of 9 warehouse and refurbishment staff, including daily task allocation, training, and performance feedback.
Own the day-to-day flow of the floor: goods-in, refurbishment throughput, stock locations, picking and dispatch.
Drive process improvements that cut turnaround times and lift output, and see them implemented, fast.
Keep stock accurate through regular counts using our own in-house stock system (full training given, no prior WMS platform experience needed).
Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with our carriers and 3PL partners.
Operate or oversee forklift and mechanical handling equipment safely, and keep health and safety standards front and centre.
Work directly with the Director of Operations on planning, KPIs and continuous improvement.
What we're looking for
Proven experience leading a team in a warehouse, production or logistics environment at supervisor or team leader level.
Switched on and self-starting: you spot problems and fix them without waiting to be asked.
Organised with stock and paperwork, comfortable with stock checks, goods-in records and basic reporting.
Counterbalance forklift licence desirable (we'll fund training/renewal for the right person).
Mechanical or appliance knowledge a bonus, not a requirement.
Ambition, as this role is built as a stepping stone into operations management as the business grows.
