We are supporting our client with the following vacancy - QA Supervisor. The QA Supervisor - Compliance supports the Technical Management team in ensuring day-to-day compliance with legal, internal, and external audit standards. The role involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards, particularly regarding food safety and health and safety. Additionally, in the absence of the site QA Supervisor or as directed by Technical Management, the QA Supervisor - Compliance will support in leading the QA team by providing technical support to the production, maintenance, and hygiene teams, ensuring that products are produced safely and in line with legislative requirements. This position plays a key role in supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the company’s Food Safety and Compliance procedures and ensuring best practices across the site. The QA Supervisor - Compliance also assists in internal audits and supports third-party and customer audit processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of company procedures and documentation to meet regulatory and audit standards.
  • Monitor compliance with legislation, including food safety, animal by-products, and health and safety requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits in line with BRC, retailer codes of practice, and internal schedules.
  • Assist with the collation and tracking of non-conformances and ensure follow-ups are completed and trends reported.
  • Support complaint investigations and assist in identifying preventative actions.
  • Help maintain systems for product traceability, labelling, and customer specification compliance.
  • Support the Technical Manager during audits and site visits from regulatory and customer bodies.
  • Assist in ensuring suppliers meet company and customer requirements.
  • In the absence of a QA Supervisor or as directed by Technical Management: Oversee factory audits completed by the QA team (including hygiene/cleaning activities), processes, products, and records to verify the business is operating to agreed standards and procedures, identify discrepancies, agreeing on action plans with the relevant manager/s responsible to correct any non-conformances/prevent re-occurrences.
  • Overseeing critical tasks to ensure maintenance of the quality system e.g. calibration, temperature monitoring, swabbing, sampling etc. are completed to the standards and schedule required.
  • Report any issues in relation to animal welfare to line management.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other departments (particularly production, hygiene, and engineering) to improve understanding and awareness of food safety and integrity.
  • Provide daily QA supervisor report, highlighting key issues and concerns.

Hours and remuneration:

Hours of work are: Shift 1 Monday 4am-4pm and Tuesday 1.30pm to 11pm. Shift 2 Tuesday to Saturday 4am-2pm. Hourly rate of pay £15.32 per hour.
