  • Equipment Disassembly: Safely turn off, isolate, and partially dismantle processing machinery to clean hidden debris.
  • Pre-Rinsing: Use high-pressure hot water hoses to blast away visible organic waste from floors, walls, and equipment.
  • Chemical Application & Scrubbing: Apply foaming detergents, degreasers, and sanitizers to all surfaces, meticulously scrubbing corners, edges, and floor drains.
  • Disinfection: Apply food-safe disinfectants to ensure all microbiological contaminants are neutralized, followed by a final flood rinse.
  • Compliance & Audits: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with food standards (such as BRC).
  • Safety & PPE: Cleaners must strictly follow COSHH regulations and wear full PPE (e.g., waterproofs, goggles, protective boots, and gloves).

Skills & Qualifications

  • No formal education is required; however, a background in hygiene cleaning will be advantageous.
  • Basic literacy and math skills are helpful for measuring and mixing cleaning chemicals.
