gap personnel are recruiting for an experienced Production Supervisor to join a well-established manufacturing operation in Wincanton, Somerset. This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for leading production teams, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and ensuring production targets are met efficiently across rotating shifts.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and motivate production operatives to achieve daily output targets
- Ensure all production activities comply with health & safety and quality standards
- Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and productivity across shifts
- Identify and resolve production issues, escalating where necessary
- Support training, induction, and ongoing development of team members
- Complete production paperwork and reports accurately and on time
- Work closely with management to drive continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Dairy Technology, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in dairy production or food manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of food processing technologies, equipment, and quality assurance principles.
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts and a Sunday–Friday rota
- Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused
