Gap Personnel is currently recruiting for a skilled Fabricator to join our client in Walsall. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity, with the potential to secure a permanent position after just 3 months. If you have strong fabrication experience and are physically fit, with a particular focus on plate work or heavy metal fabrication, this could be the perfect role for you.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday: Early finish at lunchtime - 13:30pm
Competitive pay rate of: £19.50 per hour.
The Role
- Carry out fabrication work, including plate work, to produce metal components for a variety of industrial applications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce high-quality fabricated parts.
- Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and finishing work as required to ensure the final product meets the highest standards.
- Operate and maintain a range of fabrication tools and machinery safely and effectively.
- Be physically active in your work, with the ability to handle heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensuring adherence to all health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the assembly of larger structures and components when required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fabricator, with a strong focus on plate work or metal fabrication.
- Good understanding of fabrication techniques, including welding, cutting, grinding, and finishing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in all aspects of fabrication.
- Physically fit, with the ability to lift and move heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, particularly within the heavy metal fabrication industry, is preferred.
- A commitment to following health and safety protocols at all times.
- Valid certification or training in fabrication techniques would be advantageous.
