About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and organised Transport Supervisor to support the Transport Manager in the smooth day-to-day operation of our transport department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with transport or logistics experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will help ensure our drivers are fully supported, compliant with company procedures, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service. You will also provide cover for the Transport Manager during periods of annual leave, taking responsibility for key operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Transport Manager with daily driver pre-briefs and de-briefs.
- Ensure drivers maintain high standards of customer service and comply with all operational procedures.
- Supervise the day-to-day transport operation in the Transport Manager's absence.
- Liaise with external service providers to ensure vehicle and driver compliance is maintained at all times.
- Monitor operational processes and support the efficient planning and coordination of transport activities.
- Build positive working relationships with drivers, colleagues and external partners.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Previous experience within a transport, traffic or logistics environment (preferred).
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- The ability to prioritise workload and make sound decisions in a busy operational environment.
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
