Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting for our client in Ironbridge, Telford.
Hours of work: 4 days per week between Monday to Friday flexible start and finish times between 7am and 4pm up to 34 hours per week : £12.75 ph
Full training provided
Position will lead to a permanent contract for the right candidate
Responsibilities:
- Sewing together all or part of a soft toy or garments
- Using an industrial lock stitch sewing machine, as well as occasional use of other machines such as over lockers
- Following instructions for each sewing job
- Guiding the material through the machine, correcting any mistakes as you go
- Altering machine settings to suit the type of material and finish required, changing threads etc.
- Checking that a finished article matches the pattern instructions or bill of materials
- Working with Product Developer to make up samples for new lines
- Ensuring that sewing machines and other equipment are kept clean and in good working order
- Communicating with colleagues to determine the specifications, job needs, and job preferences
- Willingness to assist in other areas of production, as necessary, to support the overall team
- Working to Company policies and standards for Health and Safety, Quality etc.
- Continuously aim to maximise efficiency in your work and minimise waste
