We are currently recruiting for our Client based in Hortonwood Telford.

Working Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm (37.5 hours per week)

Position: Direct Permanent position, 12 month Fixed Term contract with possibility to extend

Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 per annum

Role Snapshot: Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Procurement & Materials Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement and availability of raw materials, packaging, consumables and services required to support the efficient operation of the business. The role will work closely with onsite teams to ensure materials are available when required, supplier performance is maintained, and purchasing activities are completed in line with company procedures and budget expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Procurement & Purchasing: Raise and manage purchase orders through SAP Business One. Procure raw materials including cores, cartons, packaging components and ancillary production materials. Coordinate resin and polymer requirements through channels. Manage film ordering requirements and support stock and usage analysis. Source and procure bespoke items and materials. Manage purchasing of uniforms, PPE, cleaning products, office supplies and general consumables. Obtain supplier quotations and evaluate cost, quality and delivery performance. Support supplier negotiations where required. Maintain purchasing records and supplier information within SAP.
  • Production & Operational Support: Work closely with Production Planning to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules. Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate stock holdings. Support the management of packaging and finished goods requirements. Coordinate with Warehouse and Goods In teams regarding incoming deliveries and material availability. Investigate shortages, delivery delays and supply chain issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintenance Procurement: Raise and manage purchase orders for maintenance requirements. Coordinate the purchasing of spare parts, engineering consumables and contractor services. Work closely with the Maintenance team to ensure critical parts are available when required.
  • Supplier & Inventory Management: Monitor supplier performance against quality, cost and delivery metrics. Support inventory reviews to minimise excess stock whilst maintaining service levels. Review stock usage and demand trends to support purchasing decisions. Assist with supplier issue resolution and corrective action activities.
  • Compliance & Administration: Support compliance with Packaging Waste Regulations and associated reporting requirements. Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier and material records. Assist with updating and maintaining supplier documentation and certifications. Ensure purchasing activities comply with company procedures and approval processes.

Experience / Skills:

  • Previous experience within a purchasing, procurement, materials planning or supply chain role.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication and relationship management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical capability.
  • Competent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience using ERP systems.

Desirable:

  • Experience within manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • SAP Business One experience.
  • Understanding of inventory control and materials planning principles.
  • Knowledge of packaging materials, polymers or raw material procurement.
  • Experience working with supplier performance metrics and reporting.
